Chic river July 8-10 2022w

Today we are at Chicohaminy Riverfront park. There is a nice pool here and the sites are right on the water. You can't swim in the river here. The e/w sites are kind of cramped up, the ones on the river don't have water. The site is smaller than some we have had but its big enough for us. The neighbors are a decent way away which is nice. We went to Veterans Park today. They have a huge playground and it had a zip-line. We were going to Target (because Mom is a terrible packer) and the park is on the way. We had lunch at Rick's cheesesteak place. Then we had Ice cream at the Dairy Bar. I had a "Shoofly pie" milkshake which is a first. The weather is rainy but the kids still got in some decent pool time. We swam on Friday night and Saturday. We may swim Sunday too, depends on the weather. This campground is about 15 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg. I put up my shower curtain in the camper today. Hopefully now everyone will be more comfortable using the bathroom and changing. We have gotten good at popping up and down. The kids don't help and we still are fast. The trick is to keep as much as possible in the camper. I try not to pack too much but I'd rather be prepared. Last night there were super loud frogs right outside the camper. It was freaking out my city boys. You have to take a swim test here to go in the deep end of pool where the slide is located. The boys passed but it was a little difficult. We like this campground because it is close and the pool is awesome. We will probably come back next year.
